February Film Night

Based on true events, "Dolphin Tale" is a family film about Winter, a young dolphin who loses her tail in a crab trap and Sawyer, the introverted, 11-year old boy who befriends her.

Sawyer meets the rescued dolphin at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, a marine rehabilitation center where she lives. Sawyer rallies friends and family alike to save Winter by convincing a pioneering doctor to create a unique prosthetic attachment to restore the dolphin’s ability to swim. Winter the dolphin plays herself in the movie and is joined by Morgan Freeman, Harry Connick Junior and Ashley Judd.

The film made by Warner Bros will prove an enchanting evening for all the family when it is shown in the Village Hall on Friday, February 24 starting at 6.30pm.  Tickets are £3.50 and a licensed bar and tuck shop will be open. Click here to see the poster!

Booking Ahead

Residents, their families and friends have booked a regular date in their diaries with the new coffee mornings being held in Rempstone Village Hall to coincide with the monthly visit of the mobile library van.

Early January and the inaugural  morning was an outstanding success with more than 35 people  braving  atrocious weather to enjoy this very social event. February saw similar numbers once again braving bad weather but it is hoped that looking ahead to March, spring will be on its way and there are two chances to gather in the Hall on Thursday, March 1st and again  on Thursday, March 31st. Coffee, tea and biscuits are served from 10.30am  until 12 noon.  The cost is just £1 a head and there is a chance for visitors to give their feed back on future events that may be organised in the Village Hall.

Further information is available from Carol Hunter - 880259, Lesley Jebson - 880477 and Barbara Worsley - 880537.
